Please see the announcement below regarding the selection of Tony Scurto as the next Lane ESD superintendent. Tony received his Continuing Administrator License from our own COE program, and is the successor to Larry Sullivan.

Good Afternoon,

The Lane Education Service District Board of Directors is pleased to
announce the selection of Tony Scurto to serve as the next Lane ESD
superintendent.
Mr. Scurto is a twenty-four year resident of Lane County.  Tony received
his Continuing Administrator License from the University of Oregon.  He
holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from
California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor of Arts degree
from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Mr. Scurto began his educational career in 1984 as a high school teacher
and coach in the Antelope Valley in California.  Moving to Oregon in
1993, he served as a school administrator at Coquille High School and
then Sutherlin High School. Tony began his work in Lane County in 1995
when he was hired as Assistant Principal at Pleasant Hill High School.
He then served in the principal role in the Pleasant Hill School
District working at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.
In 2008 Tony was selected for his current position as Pleasant Hill
superintendent.

Tony has been active on the Lane Oregon Leadership Network (LOLN), the
Lane Workforce Partnership Board, the OASE Funding Coalition, and the
Oregon Small Schools Association Board.

Mr. Scurto is described by his current board chair as energetic,
positive, and a firm believer in the power of education.  He is known as
a thoughtful decision-maker and for his collaborative style.

Mr. Scurto will begin his employment on July 1.  Please join the Lane ESD
Board and staff in welcoming Tony!
