Greetings, COE Colleagues -

I'd like to thank those of you who have brought in food items, donated money to our cash collection jar, and purchased Euphoria chocolates. Thanks to you, our food drive is off to a great start!

The drive runs through the month of February, so you still have plenty of time to participate. Please continue to add nutritious, non-perishable food to the collection bins, add your loose change to the FFLC jars, and purchase some delicious Euphoria chocolates for $4. You can also sign up for a payroll deduction - just $12 per month provides 430 meals for the year and meets the Governor's Challenge. See me if you are interested in this option.

Some facts to consider as you plan your donation:

* Oregon's rate of food insecurity is 16.1%; that's about 644,000 people who don't know where their next meal is coming from, and a third of those are children.

* The Oregon Food Bank Network helps 1 in 5 households in Oregon and Clark County Washington.

* In an average month, about 270,000 people receive supplemental food from a food pantry through the Oregon Food Bank Network.

* FFLC can turn every dollar you donate into three meals.
