coe-staff: Congratulations to Lauren Lindstrom

The following message is sent on behalf of Dean Randy Kamphaus:
Dear Faculty and Staff,
It is my privilege to announce that our friend and colleague, Dr. Lauren Lindstrom, has accepted a position as Dean of the School of Education at the University of California, Davis.  She will begin her new appointment on June 1, 2017.
My enthusiasm for Dr. Lindstrom's recognition and her new role is only tempered by the fact that this move will also represent a loss for our college. As many of you know, Lauren has been part of the College of Education since 1988. Over the course of her service and leadership, she has never shied away from a challenge, accepting and exceling in numerous faculty and administrative appointments culminating most recently in her appointment as our Associate Dean of Research and Faculty Development.
Lauren is a triple Duck, having spent her undergraduate, graduate, and faculty years at the University of Oregon. In her time here, Lauren impacted every aspect of the college through her scholarship and service in the field of special education; her academic leadership through numerous appointments and cross-campus impact; her development and innovation in building training models that have sustained over time; her commitment to diversity, inclusion and social justice; and her decades of research and outreach aimed at increasing opportunities for youth with disabilities.
UC Davis will benefit from Lauren's leadership, and as such, they are eager to announce Lauren's new role today. Look for those announcements from UC Davis later this morning on the link below, and take some time to stop by and congratulate Lauren as she celebrates this significant accomplishment.
