coe-staff: New Faculty Hires - Stephanie DeAnda and Emily Taylor Smith

Dear COE Faculty, Staff, Students,
Your hard work on faculty search committees is paying off. I am pleased to announce two new faculty members who will continue to push forward the boundaries of academic excellence, serve as great colleagues for our staff and faculty, and provide our students with extraordinary educational experiences.
Stephanie DeAnda is joining us as an assistant professor in communication disorders and sciences. She, however, has broad interests and expertise in language development for mono-lingual and bilingual Spanish speakers. She will receive her Ph.D. in the Spring from the joint program in language and communication disorders at San Diego State University and University of California at San Diego. Emily Tanner-Smith will be joining us as an associate professor with joint appointments in the CPHS and EMPL departments. She is currently co-director of the meta-analysis center at Vanderbilt University and a national and international authority on meta-analytic research methods. She holds the Ph.D. in Sociology from Vanderbilt University. She has additional expertise in drug and other substance use. Some of her recent publications include;
