The College of Education (COE) at the University of Oregon (UO) is one of the highest ranked colleges of education in the United States and has a strong tradition of scholarship, outreach, and impact at local, state, national, and global levels. The COE is a community of scholars devoted to scholarly excellence and creating a learning and research environment that seeks diverse perspectives, demands equity, and fosters inclusion. It is home to a dozen research and outreach units, two training clinics, and highly productive faculty who conduct innovative research and scholarship in education and the clinical sciences. Our faculty are national and international leaders in prevention science, school-based intervention, research methods, and measurement designed to improve educational and social service systems for all.
Tenure-track assistant or associate rank position for counseling psychology and human services
The COE Department of Counseling Psychology and Human Services (CPHS) is seeking to hire a nine-month, assistant or associate professor rank, tenure-track faculty member, to begin fall 2017. Candidates should have a strong program of research with preference given to the following areas: (a) developing and evaluating family-related, preventive interventions for underserved families and individuals; (b) implementation science; (c) research central to couples and family therapy; and/or (d) e-health. We seek the highest-quality candidate for the department with strong multicultural competencies and dedication to enhancing equity and social justice. Externally funded clinical research is required. Tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in communication disorders and sciences
The COE Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences is seeking a tenure-line assistant professor position in communication disorders and sciences, preferably beginning September 2017. Tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in indigenous studies
The COE is seeking to hire scholars who have strong research programs, or the clear potential for one, in a broad range of areas relevant to indigenous education. This hiring initiative extends across all four of our COE departments: Education Studies, Educational Methodology, Policy, and Leadership, Counseling Psychology and Human Services, and Special Education and Clinical Sciences. Departmental affiliation will be determined by the chosen candidate in consultation with the respective department head and the dean. Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; advising; conducting research; seeking external research funding; contributing to reciprocal partnerships with the nine federally recognized tribes of Oregon, schools, and/ or community agencies and with UO programs; participating in ongoing academic program development; and providing service to the department, college, university, professional societies, and community partners. Tenure-track assistant or associate professor in research methodology
The COE announces the opening of a tenure-line faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. The position is for a research methodologist with expertise in research design and quantitative methodologies with application to varied educational and human-service contexts. We seek candidates with expertise in the application of and/or development of methodological tools and approaches appropriate for intervention research and program evaluation in educational and human service settings (e.g., adaptive interventions such as SMART designs, randomized controlled trial designs). Candidates should have rigorous research experience with the potential for, or a history of, obtaining external research funding. We also seek candidates who have experience in graduate instruction, mentoring and supervising, and who are interested in collaborative research with other COE faculty. Post-doctoral scholar in educational psychology
The COE Department of Education Studies is pleased to announce a postdoctoral position exploring the intersection of biological and cognitive mechanisms of motivation for learning. Studies will focus on examining students' motivation for learning STEM content through biological markers and survey research methodologies. Social cognitive theory and control value theory will be the foundation of this work. The department provides an opportunity to engage in basic research in motivation for learning STEM and the application of that work to teacher education. Attention and support for the postdoctoral colleague's scholarly development is a priority. The anticipated start date is January 2017.
