Hi All,

After discussions with central UO IT security staff we have confirmed that the message titled "UOAlert! Expanding to reach you in more ways” is legitimate. Recent phishing attacks have put us on higher alert with respect to email messages, and as always, we advise exercising caution over action if an email link is questionable.

We apologize for any confusion about the message. Please contact COE IT 346-7616, or http://coehelp.uoregon.edu<http://coehelp.uoregon.edu/> if you are unsure about any email you receive.

Below is the original message, sent by Julie Brown, from Campus Relations.

Thank you!

The COE It team

The University of Oregon wants you to be involved in our efforts to share information when incidents occur that disrupt campus activity or require action by individuals.

When power outages, gas leaks and police activity occurs on or near campus, we use UOAlert! notifications, including texts, emails, digital displays, and webpage updates, to get information to the community quickly.

Now each student, faculty and staff member can register:
- more than one SMS phone number (great for a parent, spouse or partner);
- additional email addresses; and
- select campus zones or UO facilities around Oregon<http://ig-earth.uoregon.edu/share/geojson/EmergencyNotice.html>.

To get started just click on the link below or paste it into your browser:

When registering, click "Use my network credentials" button to enter your DuckID login and password. To add additional SMS numbers and emails, click the edit button to the right of My Profile. To select a geographic area of campus for notifications, click the edit button to the right of My Information.

For questions, please contact uoem at uoregon.edu<mailto:uoem at uoregon.edu>. More information about emergency preparedness is at emc.uoregon.edu.

Thank you.
