Hello!
Mark your calendars for University Day on Thursday, May 21, 2015. University Day is a campus-wide beautification event that takes place each spring. Anyone who participates for an hour or more receives a U-Day t-shirt and lunch. To participate, click here and sign up<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_brr9BlrlETtzWtf>! Please sign up no later than May 14th to ensure you get a t-shirt.
The tradition of University Day dates back to 1905 as part of Junior Weekend, a spirited event to prepare the university grounds for commencement ceremonies. Though University Day has evolved since then, its roots still lie in campus spirit and community service. Please join us as we plant flowers, spread bark dust, pull weeds, and make the COE and the UO ready for spring!
Check in and shirt pick up will be in HEDCO 130. Lunch will be available at noon in the HEDCO courtyard. Some tools will be supplied, but if you have a favorite gardening tool, feel free to bring it. A list of volunteers and tasks will be sent out the week before University Day.
If you have any questions please contact me or Eric Owens at eowens at uoregon.edu<mailto:eowens at uoregon.edu>.
Thanks,
Lisa
