coe-staff: UO Senate Meeting: February 11

Happy Monday Morning, colleagues:
Attached are my notes from the last Senate meeting, February 11. The Agenda with links to the motions is here: http://senate.uoregon.edu/content/senate-meeting-agenda-february-11-2015 .  The Senate heard an interesting update on the Presidential search from the Board of Trustees (BOT) search committee chair, Connie Ballmer, and the president of the search firm.  Interim President Coltrane also gave an update and took questions on university affairs, and the Senate passed 3 motions (2 legislative and 1 resolution). One was to approve the rewritten Policy on Policies - this was the policy placed before the BOT in December that caused a great deal of concern as it essentially erased shared governance. The approved revised policy now goes to the BOT. The second was a resolution to ask for increased unisex restrooms on campus, the 3rd was to make some changes to the Senate Budget Committee.  The next Senate meeting is this Wednesday, 3:00-5:00,  in Beall Concert Hall - come on over!
