MEMORANDUM

TO:                Building Managers

FROM:           Debbie Cadigan, Campus Relations Manager, Campus Operations

SUBJECT:     UPS Deliveries

United Parcel Service (UPS) has a corporate policy of not crossing union lines during strikes.
The university has negotiated with UPS, and the carrier has agreed to deliver UO bound parcels to a single, central location, in the event of a GTFF strike.

                        University of Oregon Campus Operations (Stores Warehouse)
                        1295 Franklin Blvd.
                        Eugene, OR  97403

Campus Operations will not be able to re-deliver packages to the intended recipients, but will hold parcels at the Stores Warehouse for pickup by the recipient.

Campus Operations will not open the packages, but will verify there is no physical damage and will attempt to contact the recipient department to let them know that they have a package at the Stores Warehouse to be picked up.

IF STAFF ARE EXPECTING UPS PARCELS OR  TRUCK SHIPMENT FROM ANY CARRIER DURING THE GTFF STRIKE and those parcels are not delivered when expected,  email or contact Campus Operations Warehouse staff, Sam Brown, 346-2312 or Greg Soderstedt, 346-8256 or gds at uoregon.edu<mailto:gds at uoregon.edu> .

If the department has an order confirmation from any carrier, please e-mail that confirmation to Greg Soderstedt at gds at uoregon.edu<mailto:gds at uoregon.edu> . This will allow Campus Operations to anticipate the delivery and contact the recipient promptly. If a large shipment delivery by a carrier occurs, Campus Operations will hold that shipment, but having advance notice from the recipient department assists in proper identification and contact after delivery.
