coe-staff: HEP article

Good Afternoon,

The story honoring the legacy of the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) at UO has been published<https://education.uoregon.edu/news/hep-no-more-uo-high-school-equivalency-program> on the COE website (more UO outlets to follow). Many people contributed their time and insights to it, so I’d like to thank Lauren Lindstrom, Teodoro Reyes-Ramirez, Pam Smith, Joel Montemayor, Larry Hilliard, Lillian Winkler-Rios, and everyone who gave voice to the disappointment and frustration that rippled through the COE after this announcement in July. It is by no means a comprehensive telling of the HEP story, but hopefully it shines a light on the program’s honorable and interesting legacy, and the people whose passion for education made it so successful.

Also, our internal news site, The Loop<https://coe.uoregon.edu/coe-news/>, got a facelift over the summer, which now includes social-media feeds. It also is now responsive, so it looks and reads great on all your devices. As always, submit your news items – formal or informal – to me.
