coe-staff: Aerial photography Thursday, Oct. 2

Good Afternoon,

Tomorrow from 8-9 a.m., and possibly again from 3-4 p.m., a UO-contracted videographer will be operating a remote-controlled quadcopter outfitted with a GoPro camera on the COE campus to obtain general-purpose aerial footage of campus. He will be accompanied at all times by UO staff. The unit is about 20 inches square and weighs about three pounds. It makes a high-pitched whirring noise and has a ceiling (for our purposes) of about 400 feet. Some shots may bring it relatively close to COE buildings, particularly HEDCO. You may see/hear it elsewhere around UO throughout the day.

Per FERPA regulations, we will not use any shots in which individual students can be easily identified; most shots with people in them will be from a substantial height. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
