Dear Colleagues,
We at the Service-Learning Program are partnering with United Way of Lane County to provide summer reading opportunities for kids, called “THE SUMMER READING SPOTS<http://unitedwaylane.org/what-we-do/strategic-priorities/education/summer-reading-spot/>.” Kids are invited to come to the park, enjoy a free picnic lunch, read with a volunteer, and take a book home. This year, at the site in Cottage Grove, there are many more 3rd-through-8th graders than ever before, which means we are going to run short of giveaway books! This is a great problem to have, too many kids who want books!!! But still, it’s a problem.
If you can help by donating books for this age range, whether fiction or non-fiction, hardcover, paperback, used or new, we would appreciate it.
Bring your gifts to 370 HEDCO, or let me know and I will come to you for pickup!
Very best wishes,
Deanna
