This is a friendly reminder that the workplace harassment training for all UO employees (including GTFs) must be completed by the end of the day tomorrow.  See the message below for details.  The Provost’s Office has indicated that human resources is tracking those who have not completed the training (per the message below), and will add a notation of non-completion to individuals’ personnel files.

Colleagues -

On October 8, you received an email from Provost Coltrane<http://around.uoregon.edu/story/provost/health-safety/mandatory-online-training-will-address-workplace-harassment> announcing a new online Preventing Workplace Harassment training for faculty and staff, including GTFs.  The training is intended to better inform faculty and staff about behaviors that constitute prohibited discrimination and sexual harassment and to clarify employees’ understanding of their duty to report credible information regarding incidents of prohibited discrimination, including sexual assault, partner or dating violence, and gender-based stalking.

This is a required training for all regular UO employees (full-time and part-time) and GTF’s with a March 30, 2014 completion deadline.  HR/Organizational Development and Training (HR/ODT) will be tracking employee completion of the training. Temporary and student employees are not required, but are strongly encouraged to complete these online courses.

The training consists of the following:

EMPLOYEES WITHOUT DUCK IDs:

  *   To access and take the training, UO employees will need to have their Duck ID.  If you have not established your Duck ID, you will need to do so in advance of taking the training.

EMPLOYEES WITHOUT REGULAR COMPUTER ACCESS OR WHO, FOR OTHER REASONS, MAY BENEFIT FROM LARGE GROUP, FACILITATOR LEAD TRAINING:

  *   Large group training sessions will be held to present the two online courses and facilitate a discussion about key points for employees who do not have regular computer access or who, for other reasons, require facilitator led training.  Those courses will have limited capacity and are intended for employees who are unable or will have difficulty taking the training online.  We will be relying on unit heads to help identify employees who will need or benefit from facilitator lead training.  Supervisors should send a list of employees who will require facilitator lead training to Pam Farmer, Director, UO HR/Organizational Development and Training at pfarmer at uoregon.edu<mailto:pfarmer at uoregon.edu>, with the best time of day for the training for employees in their area.  A schedule of dates and times for facilitator lead training will posted on the HR/ODT website shortly.
