Hello,
The Food Education And Security Team (FEAST)* and the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)* are partnering to put on a FOOD DRIVE during Week 3 of Spring Term (April 14th to 18th) to help raise food for the Student Food Pantry. Drop your donations in the box in HEDCO 130.
The Student Food Pantry provides supplemental food to students in order to alleviate hunger and promote food security in our campus community. All UO students are eligible to use the food pantry simply by showing their student ID during the hours of operation, Thursdays 4-6pm. The food pantry, located one block south of the soccer fields on 19th and Emerald Alley, serves on average 90 students per week and is rapidly growing. FEAST is a student group that helps run the Student Food Pantry in partnership with the UO Episcopal Campus Ministry.
Most needed foods are:
Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Canned Meats
Canned Stew, Chili and Hearty Soups
Pasta and Rice
Canned Tomato Products
We hope that your department will consider donating food. Unlike the Governor's Food Drive, the food from our drive will go directly to students in need. To donate, drop off your food to the box in HEDCO 130.
Thank you,
Karina Francia
