coe-staff: UO Service Ups and Downs

All,

There is a campus-wide effort to mitigate the effects of a recently publicized SSL vulnerability called Heartbleed. Typically updates and patches are done during off hours to avoid business impact. However in this case, system servers need to be patched and restarted as soon as possible.

This means that you may experience short service interruptions over the next few days. The interruptions typically will be short and affect services such as Websites or the RT ticketing system.

If we have specific advanced knowledge of prolonged outages affecting COE users, we will send out email notifications as early as possible.

Please note that this vulnerability does not affect normal desktop or laptop computer operating systems (Windows or Mac OSX).
