The department of Educational Methodology, Policy and Leadership (EMPL) is pleased to announce the following colloquium presentation by a candidate for their open rank, tenure-related position. The presentation is happening this Monday, March 10; faculty and students are highly encouraged to attend, and any efforts to help us spread the word about this short-notice event would be most welcome (flyer attached).

Dr. Oscar Jimenez-Castellanos has published extensively in the area of K-12 education policy and finance and its impact on opportunity, equity and outcomes in low-income ethnically and linguistically diverse communities. His scholarly work has been published in leading academic journals, such as Review of Educational Research, Journal of Education Finance, Bilingual Research Journal, Educational Considerations, and Journal of Latinos and Education. Dr. Jimenez-Castellanos is lead editor of the Association of Mexican American Educators (AMAE) Journal. He is a 2014 Jose Cardenas School Finance Fellow through the Intercultural Development Research Association and was a 2012 Ford Postdoctoral Fellow administered by the National Research Council of the National Academies. He served as Arizona's Acting Director of the University Research Council (URC) in Education. Dr. Oscar Jimenez-Castellanos is currently an assistant professor of Education Policy and Evaluation in Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University.
