------------------------
The Center for Equity Promotion (CEPQ) at the College of Education is partnering with the University of Washington and the international
development organization Duetsche Geselleshaft f?r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to host an international conference, “Prevention
Implementation in Diverse International Contexts,” and research poster session at the Ford Alumni Center on April 28-29, 2014.
This event will be an opportunity to showcase the University of Oregon to a worldwide audience of prevention scientists, scholars,
practitioners, and community members who share CEQP’s passion for issues that impact education, health, and social-service sectors. The
conference will provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to share and learn about the processes and most pressing challenges of
developing and implementing interventions for use in international contexts with vulnerable populations. Finally, the poster session will
offer students and faculty a forum to expand awareness of cultural and regional contexts for prevention work and how to sustain international
collaborations.
We encourage students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and researchers to participate in this first international conference and
also submit poster proposals under the following strands:
1. Implementing models of prevention practices within diverse international systems of policy and practice
2. Promoting positive outcomes for youth and families by working with schools, families, and communities
3. Promising international practices in healthy transitions from school, alternative education models, and youth employment
4. Measuring and monitoring program outcomes, fidelity, and cultural adaptation processes in international prevention efforts
