coe-staff: Electrical work in HEDCO server room tomorrow (1/11)

All,

Critical work on electrical components in the HEDCO server room will interrupt power to telecom and computing equipment in HEDCO and will affect equipment in other COE buildings (CSB, Lokey, Annex) for 8 hours tomorrow (1/11/2014, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm).

Anyone (faculty , students, and staff) planning to work in the COE buildings tomorrow should be prepared for the absence of telecom and internet communications as well as any network-based services such as COE file server and print services during this work.
 
COEIT will to power down our file server and print servers this evening in preparation for tomorrow's work. Thus, file and print services will be unavailable from Friday evening ( 8 pm, 1/10/14) Until Saturday evening (6 pm, 1/11/14).

Note that the electrical outage should only touch the server room and its telecom and computing equipment. It should not affect power to offices or elevators.

Please make sure to save and close any files you have open on the file server (COEshare) by close of business tonight.
