Sent on behalf of Lauren Lindstrom--

COE colleagues - I wanted to remind you of a couple of upcoming opportunities to seek research funding through our own Research Innovation and Graduate Education Office (RIGE).

1. Faculty Research Awards are designed to provide support for both tenure and career NTTF. Awards are made in two broad areas 1) enhancing scholarship impact, or 2) seeding new funding. Maximum funds are $5500. Deadline December 2, 1013.

2. Idea Awards provide funds to stimulate discussion and development of collaborative ideas for research projects that will lead to future external funding. Funds may be used to sponsor an external speaker, engage in a planning workshop or retreat, or retain a consultant to conduct a seminar or workshop. Maximum award $5000. Deadlines December 17 or March 31, 2014.

3. Incubating Interdisciplinary Initiatives (I3) awards are intended to foster interdisciplinary research groups at UO. This program is designed to build capacity and support development of large-scale projects and programs that strategically enhance the UO's research excellence by targeting specific federal agency programs that offer programmatic, large-scale funding. Maximum award $50,000. Deadline February 4, 2014.

I encourage you to apply for these awards! More information and application materials are available through the RIGE web site
