coe-staff: COE Photo Shoots, plus video info

Good Morning,

Photo shoot tomorrow and Nov. 27
Tomorrow and the following Tuesday, a professional photographer will be on the premises as part of a coordinated shoot. The bulk of our digital photography is more than four years old and it's time to start refreshing it.

I have been working with a number of you behind the scenes to identify students and faculty to be part of the shoot, and things are lining up pretty well. These initial two shoots will focus on life in and around the complex, our undergraduate programs, and some examples of the work we do with children and families. Future shoots will focus on other areas. The photographer will be accompanied at all times.

We are a little thin on male students and faculty for tomorrow's shoot. If you fit that description, are willing to be photographed, and are available between 9 and 11 a.m., and/or from 3:30-5 p.m., please let me know. Even if you don't fit that description but you have something going on that might be interesting to shoot during those times, let me know that as well. The same afternoon window (3:30-5) may be available on the 27th as well. We'll have releases with us.

The scheduled shoot aside, the talent and equipment exists right here in the COE to capture events on a one-off basis. If your daytime plans include something photogenic, on campus or off, please don't hesitate to contact me.

COE video capabilities
On a related note, the COE now has pretty robust video-production capabilities that include lighting, professional audio, visual effects, motion graphics and more. Starting in January, we would like to produce at least one new short video per month promoting the COE. Some will be serious, some will be whimsical, but there must  be a mix. All will try and capture the academic and social life, and the spirit/energy of the College. If you would like to discuss a video idea for your department/unit/program, contact me after the 27th and I'll gladly meet to discuss it.
