EDLD 610 Analysis of Discrete & Categorical Data
Winter 2013; M/W 12:00-13:50PM
Instructor: Mark J. Van Ryzin, Ph.D. markv at oslc.org

DESCRIPTION:
In this course, we will discuss methods for the analysis of categorical
outcome data, which can include dichotomous, nominal, ordinal, and
count-based data. We will discuss how link functions are used to modify
traditional regression models to accommodate categorical outcome data. We
will review the commands in SPSS that facilitate the analysis of this type
of data analysis and discuss how the results can be interpreted and
disseminated. Students will be reading articles that use categorical data
analysis and conducting their own research project using categorical data
as part of this course.
