coe-staff: Announcement - Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services

Members of the College of Education Community:

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Angela Whalen will become the Assistant Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services in the College of Education on October 1. She will work directly with Dr. Ron Beghetto in his role as associate dean for academic programs and have an office in the Student Academic Services office suite in the first floor of the HEDCO education building.

Dr. Whalen has worked in the public schools in Iowa and Washington as a school psychologist, staff development trainer, and literacy coach. She earned her doctorate in school psychology from the UO in 2002, and in 2003 began to work in the school psychology program teaching classes and serving as the program's practicum coordinator.

Dr. Whalen's professional experiences and professional style are exactly what we were looking for in someone to assume this position and we are indeed fortunate to have hired her. Please join me in welcoming Angie to her new position.
