coe-staff: Fwd: Exchange Maintenance

If you are on Microsoft Exchange for email the note below is for you. Basically IS (Computing Center)  have been and will be doing some upgrades through Monday. IS is asking that you turn exit Exchange before leaving each day, I think it would be a better idea just to shut down your computer before leaving today and on Monday. Their upgrade time generally lasts until 7 a.m. so if you come in before that you may want to wait until 7 or a little after before starting your Outlook client on your computer.

It was causing people to lose their connection while using Outlook today and rebooting took care of the issue.

I would recommend to you that you have all users close Outlook today when going home and again on Monday. This should allow for us to complete all patching with little auth / credential problems.

All,

We will be updating a couple Client Access Servers Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with Exchange Service Pack 2 this will be a rolling update.  Each day a few servers will be updated in order to improve a back out strategy if things fail.  Clients will need to be re-authenticate after server reboots this week so please be aware of this work going on.  Client Access Servers this week and Mailbox servers next week.

If you have any questions about the work being done please let me know.
