<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Office of the Provost has completed its review of college level merit policies to ensure alignment with current CBA language and expectations. We have been notified that the COE Merit policy has been reviewed
with minor edits. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><i><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Source Sans Pro",sans-serif;color:black">Merit policies have been updated by the Office of the Provost to align with the most current CBA. Most current merit policies
reference your promotion and review standards for “not meeting expectations,” “meeting expectations,” and “exceeding expectations.” Under the 2025 CBA, units are no longer to include an explicit standard for “exceeding expectations.” </span><o:p></o:p></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><i><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Source Sans Pro",sans-serif;color:black">To align with the CBA, we have made minor edits to your merit policies (see links at the bottom of this email). These edits
do <b>not</b> change your process or criteria; they simply replace the phrase <b>
“exceeding expectations”</b> with <b>“performing substantially beyond expectations.”</b> </span><o:p></o:p></i></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">A tracked-changes version of the policy is attached. Given that these are required changes (by OtP in alignment with the CBA), this policy will not require a COE faculty vote. However, this does provide an
opportunity for a re-review of the policy for awareness. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
