coe-fac: Upcoming process related to Instructional Faculty Workload Assignment Worksheets

Dear COE Faculty,

Next week core faculty with instructional, clinical, or supervision responsibilities will be receiving a personalized faculty Workload Assignment Worksheets. The Worksheets collect individual faculty summaries of coursework (or supervision), service, and research activity and reflect an updated process that facilitates the annual discussion between faculty and their department head around proposed professional responsibilities.

It is our hope that as the process is refined in future years it will improve transparency around workload assignment decisions and will assist faculty in documenting any additional activities they would like considered in relation to their workload and/or their performance evaluations.

During the week of May 1st 2023, career and TTF faculty with course assignments will receive an email from myself or from another member of the Human Resources staff with a link to their personalized workload assignment sheet pre-filled with current 2023 - 2024 teaching courseload. Please verify the course assignments, and complete the sections related to research and service to the best of your ability.

In future years this process will begin in late Fall or Early winter and will engage faculty prior to course assignments.
