Hello COE faculty,

I also wanted to share the following update on our course reserves and scanning services this term.

In response to changing COVID-related guidelines and user demand, the Libraries will resume limited Course Reserves services Spring Term 2021.

Please note the following considerations when deciding whether to put course-required material on reserve or have it scanned:

· Some students, particularly those who do not come to campus for classes, may not be able to access material on reserve. This may not be a good solution for courses whose students aren’t otherwise required to come to campus.

· The Libraries is still offering expanded scanning services to faculty, regardless of course format (i.e., onsite or remote). See instructions linked below.

· Print material on Course Reserves can only circulate to one student per day and will then be quarantined until the following morning. If you have a large class, scanning services may still be the better option, or you can submit multiple copies of a title for reserve.

· We do not have a mechanism to control whether the same or different students borrow the text(s) each day.

· Material will be due at closing time<https://library.uoregon.edu/hours-and-locations> regardless of checkout time. This varies library-to-library.

· See our Course Reserves<https://library.uoregon.edu/reserves/requestreserves> page to learn more about this service.

Scanning Services: The Libraries continues to offer expanded scanning services for Spring Term 2021 so you can share resources with your students in Canvas instead of placing material on print Course Reserves. In many cases, especially for remote teaching and learning, this makes the most sense. Please visit our Requesting Scans to Support Remote Teaching<https://library.uoregon.edu/borrowing/scanning-remote-teaching> page to learn more about this service and submit requests.

Thank you!
