Hello COE faculty,
I hope you and your loved ones are doing okay during these increasingly difficult times. As we near the start of fall term, I wanted to reach out to you about how the library can support you and your students in a remote learning environment.
The library building will be open, but many of our staff and faculty are working remotely. I will primarily be working remotely through the end of this year, so the best way to reach me will be by email or MS Teams.
Here are some reminders and updates about library services for Fall 2020:
* I can provide online synchronous or asynchronous instruction by request. Please contact me if this is something you're interested in and we can discuss what would be the best fit for your class.
* Additionally, UO Libraries has worked over the summer to create some new video and interactive tutorials<https://researchguides.uoregon.edu/tutorials>. I can help embed them in your Canvas course; please consider adding me in the Librarian role<https://researchguides.uoregon.edu/canvasintegration/adding_librarians>. I can also create custom tutorials for your course.
* You may have seen my email last week about course reserves and scanning for remote teaching. As a reminder, you can find information about that service here: https://library.uoregon.edu/borrowing/scanning-remote-teaching
* I will continue to provide remote consultations (Zoom, MS Teams, or by phone) to students and faculty by appointment: https://uoregon.libcal.com/appointments/coelibrarian I have attached a short paragraph about me that you can add to your syllabus if you'd like.
* Data Services will continue to offer statistical consulting<https://library.uoregon.edu/research-data-management/consultations> virtually via MS Teams.
* If you have referred any of your students to the tutoring service in the library in the past, the Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center will be offering remote tutoring<https://engage.uoregon.edu/remote-tutoring-support/> this term.
Lastly, you can also see more information about library services for remote teaching here: https://library.uoregon.edu/remote-teaching
Please contact me if you have any questions or if I can help!
Best wishes for Fall Term,
Katherine
