coe-fac: Scanning and Course Reserves, Fall Term

Hello COE faculty,



I wanted to give you the most up to date information we have about scanning and course reserves for fall term.

We're offering expanded scanning services to you this term so you can share resources directly with your students in Canvas instead of placing material on print Course Reserves, which will not be an option. All files are delivered through ILLiad, our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery request management system, and can be shared via Canvas for educational purposes only. Please set up your ILLiad<https://illiad.uoregon.edu/illiad/logon.html> account prior to submitting scanning requests.



Single journal articles and book chapters:

  *   Log directly in to ILLiad<https://illiad.uoregon.edu/illiad/logon.html> and complete the Scanning Request form.



Multiple journal articles and/or book chapters:

  *   Use this Qualtrics form<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0MNDFvGEqcZl7vL__;!!C5qS4YX3!TEi5FecCRmt1EXKgW5b05O5_uU25fzZdAPDmbKciLdfcRvjSErVwPiEtyf4iD6HO$> to upload your course syllabus or required reading list.
  *   Include complete citations and assignment due dates.
  *   Clearly indicate which readings are required and optional.



Due to limited resources and copyright compliance considerations, please keep in mind:

  *   We are only scanning print material. If you need other media to support your courses, contact your Subject Specialist Librarian to discuss options.
  *   We are only scanning required readings that would have gone on Course Reserves.
  *   Scanning requests will be prioritized by assignment due dates.
  *   Files will not exceed more than one reading assignment or 20% of the book, whichever is less.
  *   Please plan ahead and submit requests early. Files will be delivered at least one week prior to the assignment due date if the request is received at least two weeks in advance and material is readily available.
  *   All personal material brought into the library for scanning will be quarantined for six days before processing.
