coe-fac: UO Libraries Remote Teaching Support

Hello COE faculty,

I wanted to reach out to you about some of the ways that the UO Libraries can support you as we prepare to make the transition to offering remote classes in the spring.

I will be working from home for the next few weeks but can still be contacted by email. We’ve also set up individual chat reference queues that can be found on our subject guides if you’d prefer to contact me that way (here is one example: http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/education). If I’m unavailable this will roll over to our general chat reference queue.

I am also moving my research consultations to online (Zoom or MS Teams) or phone for now. You can still use my calendar to set up an appointment: https://uoregon.libcal.com/appointments/coelibrarian

The UO Libraries are still open, but you can check for any changes in our scheduled hours on our website. We also have put together a page on Library Services for Remote Teaching (https://library.uoregon.edu/remote-teaching).

Please get in touch if I can help with any of the following:

  *   Buying new ebooks for next term (I will investigate licensing options)
  *   Locating or creating permanent links to library electronic resources
  *   Scheduling online library instruction for spring term

We are also in conversation with UO Online about adding librarians to Canvas courses (where we could help with linking course materials, creating video tutorials, etc.). If that would be helpful to you, stay tuned for more information soon.
