Dear Faculty,

Please see the note from the Provost’s office regarding preparation for finals week. Please answer the survey questions no later than 8:00am Wednesday morning to indicate how you will administer Winter Finals in the event that in-class meetings are canceled next week.

Please also keep your plans for finals week available to share with your Department Heads, Program Directors, and the COE Academic Continuity Team as needed.

Subject: Action Needed: Finals Week Planning


Colleagues -



As you know, on the advice of public health authorities, the UO campus is open and operating as usual. However, we also recognize that we must plan for other contingencies, and we’re requesting information from instructors now regarding final exams for winter term, so that we can be of help should the university need to cancel in-class meetings next week.  Obviously we don’t want to alarm anyone and, at this point, are intending to proceed with exams as scheduled. However, in order to support faculty and students, we need to have plans in place should conditions change.



To facilitate planning efforts we have developed a survey for faculty to fill out with important information regarding their plans for finals. Please send the link below to your faculty to complete by no later than 8 am, Wednesday, March 11th. It is critical that all faculty provide information. The survey is short and will not take significant time to complete. This will allow us to deploy resources efficiently based on needs to minimize disruptions for completion of finals.
