coe-fac: Hello from the UO Libraries

Hello COE Faculty,

As we're nearing the start of a new academic year, I'd just like to quickly remind you of some of the ways that I (and the UO Libraries) can support you and your students. ​


·         Instruction sessions on research and library resources for your class. Please contact me if you’d like me to visit your class. You can also have your class visit the library for instruction if you prefer (we have classrooms that can accommodate around 30 students).

·         One-on-one or small group research consultations for you or your students. Schedule an appointment with me here (http://uoregon.libcal.com/appointment/24599) or shoot me an email to set up a time.

·         I welcome your suggestions for purchases for the library collection, particularly for items like books, DVDs, etc.(items with a one-time cost). I also manage the curriculum (K-12 textbook)​​<http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/education/curriculum> and juvenile collections<http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/education/juvenile> if you have any suggestions for these areas. I can consider journal subscription requests but this is an area where budget is an issue because of inflation costs and I may not be able to fulfill your request.

·         I maintain research guides<http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/prf.php?account_id=121286> for some of the programs in the COE. These should automatically appear as a tab on your Canvas course site (that you can toggle on or off as you like).

·         Citation management tool help - I have experience with Zotero and Mendeley in particular but am up for tackling any of your citation management tool questions.


I’m also happy to answer any of your library-related questions or to refer you to the library faculty or staff person who can. Let me know if you any questions, suggestions, or other ideas about how the library could support you and your students. I hope you have a good fall term!
