Hello,
The College of Education has been invited to participate in a welcome lunch for new graduate students.
--If you wish to attend, you will have to RSVP to the Graduate School at the link below prior to August 1st, and then let me know if you plan on being there so we can get an idea of how many folks are attending. The RSVP only takes 30 seconds as it just asks for your name and academic program.

--New students will be invited by the Graduate School and they have a separate RSVP process. However, it would be helpful if you'd reach out to your incoming graduate students and invite them personally to have lunch with you at this event. They are more likely to attend if they feel they will have someone to chat with.

Please let me know what I can do to facilitate this. I'll be attending the lunch as well and I'll get there early to find our table, so just look for me when you arrive.

Thanks,
Lisa

Subject: Grad Welcome Week 2018 BBQ

As we gear up for Grad Welcome Week 2018 I am reaching out to ask you to help us welcome new graduate students by hosting a "Lunch with Your College" table at the Graduate School's New Graduate Student Welcome Barbeque September 18th, 11:45 to 1:00 pm on the 'O' at the EMU Green. This is a wonderful opportunity for colleges to join us as we welcome our students into our community.

While students have appreciated exposure to the broader graduate community during Grad Welcome Week, they let us know that one of the things they truly want at our orientation is a chance to connect to their new academic home and colleagues. Many ideas have been discussed but, meeting faculty or administrators and other students at orientation and the barbeque seemed to garner the most support.

All of this is free to you and your students. We will provide a pre-marked table and a BBQ ticket for those who staff your college's table. We welcome any items you want to add at the orientation, such as a table covers and additional information about your college or its services.

If you would like to join us, all we ask is that you let us know by August 1st who will be at your venue by filling out the "Lunch With Your College"<https://oregon.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6QKEMCrn0PP32uN> RSVP so we can be sure we send them a calendar invitation and have a host name tag ready for them.
