coe-fac: AERA Reception Invite, Saturday April 14

Hello,

For those faculty and graduate students who are attending the AERA Conference in New York, the University of Oregon College of Education will be hosting a reception to showcase the great COE faculty and student research that is being presented.  The reception will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the University Club of New York.  In addition to AERA attendees, we are inviting local COE alumni, giving them the chance to hang out, chat with faculty and students, and learn about the world class research the COE does.

Could you please let us know:

2)            If you are making a presentation let us know what that presentation title is, along with the names of any co-presenters/authors;

3)              If you will be receiving any special recognition;

4)            Names and email addresses of any colleagues from other universities you would like us to personally invite.  Our event will be announced in the AERA conference program, so all AERA attendees will know about the reception.

Packing Note:  Please be advised of the University Club’s dress code, which is in effect at all times. Men are required to wear jackets, dress shirts, and ties. Women are required to wear clothing meeting similar standards. Jeans, corduroy, shorts, capris, denim, sneakers, flip flops and other such casual sportswear are not considered appropriate attire.

I’d like to add that they have put this dress code on every piece of communication that they have sent me, so I think they take it fairly seriously and may not admit people in what they deem inappropriate clothing.  Please make sure that guests you invite are aware of this.
