coe-fac: College of Education Graduate Council seat open - ACTION NEEDED BY FRIDAY

Dear College of Education Faculty:


It has been my pleasure to represent the College for the past three years on the Graduate Council.  My term ends this June, and so we have a vacancy to fill. To be considered for election to this seat, please enter your name into the Senate service survey (see original email below) by tomorrow.


The Council meets monthly and advises the Dean and Associate Dean of the Graduate School on all matters related to graduate training as well as reviewing new curriculum and program proposals.  The Council has been extremely thoughtful and considerate, and has promoted important decisions this year related to graduate student funding, curriculum quality, student safety, and service loads for Directors of Graduate Studies. The Council works with the UO Curriculum Committee, Senate and other administrative units. The position is appropriate for teaching faculty at all ranks.

Subject: Committee vacancies for next year

Dear Senators and ex-officio members of the Senate:

  We need your help in recruiting for a small handful of committee seats for next year.  As you may know, the Committee on Committees appoints individuals to a large number of committees during Spring term.  For the last few weeks we have  asked faculty members (and members of other constituencies) to fill out the election survey and specify which committees they are interested in serving on.  While the survey is officially closed, individuals can still submit their preferences via the following link.
