Dear UO Research Community,
Do you or your students plan to conduct research with human subjects this summer or fall? Have questions about submitting an application to the UO IRB (Institutional Review Board) or how to develop a protocol?
Research Compliance Services (RCS) is offering a workshop on the IRB application process and protocol development Tuesday, August 2, from 1-2pm, on the 5th Floor of Peace Health North (677 East 12th Avenue, Suite 500). A map and directions can be found here: http://rcs.uoregon.edu/content/contact-us.
The session will include a brief overview of the IRB application process and how to develop a complete protocol for IRB review. The workshop will touch on key components of the subject recruitment and consent process/materials; issues related to subject privacy, data confidentiality and security; and how to respond to IRB revision requests.
Ample time will be set aside for researchers to ask questions about the IRB application process in general, as well as questions about their specific research projects and protocol development.
Researchers at any stage of a research project involving human subjects are encouraged to attend. Bring your laptops and IRB materials; hands on assistance will be provided!
Contact Caitlin Alcorn (541-346-1964 or calcorn at uoregon.edu<mailto:calcorn at uoregon.edu>) or Carolyn Craig (541-346-1845 or craig3 at uoregon.edu<mailto:craig3 at uoregon.edu>) with questions.
Please register for this workshop here: http://orsa.uoregon.edu/pcf/training/ (or RSVP to researchcompliance at uoregon.edu<mailto:researchcompliance at uoregon.edu>).
Share this message with anyone you think might be interested in this session.
We look forward to seeing you on August 2 at 1 pm!
