coe-fac: VOTE Curriculum Policy

Thanks to those who took time to review the policy and send comments. The committee received several comments that will increase the clarity of the policy. Those have been made and are included as track changes in this copy. The other comments are below.

The Curriculum Committee


Additional comments:

1)      How is the curriculum committee formed etc. The policy refers to the Internal Governance Policy so if changes only need to change one policy.

2)      Difficult to include College wide research courses in programs. No change in this policy from past. Programs can petition for waiver.

3)      Length of time until approval. This policy shortens it from before. The committee will continue to look at this but because of the number of committees and people that need to review these it just takes a long time.

4)      Feedback loop regarding the EDUC course quality, etc. There is nothing in the policy at this time. The Curriculum Committee has this on the agenda for next year - stay tuned.

5)      Requiring a full review when there is substantial change in the content of a  course (e.g., objectives) is overreach...
