COE Faculty

We have received a request from Eugene Sudbury Charter School in Eugene to participate with them on a new project they recently started. Sudbury is a 4J charter with 66 students currently enrolled and the plan is for 120 students. Their program is a blend of the Sudbury model (democratic immersion), project based practices, STEAM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math,) with traditional classroom instruction.

The project goals include: Implement marketing plan, specifically geared toward at-risk/underserved populations; administer professional development to provide staff with the tools and understanding of our diverse student population, and capacity building for our Board / Sponsor; and align STEAM labs with project-based curriculum and Common Core to ensure all students meet state and federal requirements.

Rather than have them contact you each individually I agreed to send an email to identify faculty interested in participating in a meeting to learn more and will arrange a space for such a meeting here on campus. Please send an email to Maggie Bosworth magboz at uoregon.edu<mailto:magboz at uoregon.edu> if you would like to be included in a meeting. Please respond by Wednesday March 2nd.
