Subject: COE Community Gathering, Monday, November 30

Dear Students,

The recent news of harm, unrest, and threats on college campuses and elsewhere are deeply affecting our College community, especially our students who routinely face inequities, exclusion, racism, or other acts of marginalization.   The closure of Western Washington University today is just the most recent example.  We have had several students come by Student Services to talk about their concerns related to these events, or seek information about campus and community resources.  Please continue to come to our office for these reasons.

As one step toward  helping students thrive personally and professionally, I ask that you join us next Monday, November 30, in the HEDCO building lobby from 5 to 7 pm.  I will be there, as will Dr. Krista Chronister, our Assistant Dean for Equity and Inclusion, our Student Diversity Affairs Committee (SDAC) members, and our COE Dean's Student Advisory Board (DSAB) members.  We will all be there for a singular reason; to listen to you and assist as requested.

Pizza will be served and please come by.
