coe-fac: FW: Oregon University/School Partnership grant RFP released

Hello All,

I have attached the RFP for the 2013-14 Title II-A University/School Partnership (USP) Professional Development program. An Intent-to-Apply form is due October 15 and the final proposal is due November 1, 2013. Successful projects may begin in January 2014, and projects can last up to two years. The maximum two-year funding for projects is $240,000. Oregon has funding for five projects in this competitive grant that is focused on teacher/principal professional development in mathematics, science, and English language arts/literacy.

There are 51 high-poverty school districts in Oregon that also meet the USP eligibility requirement of 1.7% or more classes taught by teachers who are not highly qualified to teach those classes or 1.44% or more teachers on emergency or conditional licenses. This list is at the end of the RFP. All University/School Partnership projects are required to have at least three partners:

1.      At least one eligible school district

2.      The unit of a college or university that prepares teachers

3.      The College or Department of liberal arts and sciences at a university or college.
