"Using Online Video Oral Histories in University Courses across Disciplines"
Jill Goodman Gould and Gail Gradowski, Santa Clara University
Wednesday, March 20, 10:30 a.m.
Knight Library Browsing Room

The use of online video oral histories in university courses across the disciplines will be the subject of a talk by Santa Clara University English Professor Jill Goodman Gould and SCU Instruction Librarian Gail Gradowski on Wednesday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m. in Knight Library's Browsing Room.

Thanks to the Internet, a wide range of oral histories is now readily available to educators, from small collections like Ball State University's video interviews of 40 members of the U.S. Army's First Infantry Division from the Vietnam War to large archives of oral histories such the Densho Digital Archive of over 600 video interviews documenting the Japanese American internment during WWII.

Jill Goodman Gould and Gail Gradowski will share their own experiences using a videotape collection of Holocaust testimonies in an advanced writing course at Santa Clara University and will survey a range of other university courses in various disciplines that currently use online interviews and testimonies as part of their curriculum.
Please join us on Wednesday, March 20, to learn about the wealth of oral history material and supporting resources available for teaching in multiple disciplines.
