Distinguished Teaching Awards - Nominations to Open in January
Each year, the University of Oregon awards crystal apples-symbols of teaching excellence-to three of its top teachers. The awards are supported by endowment funds and each faculty recipient receives a $2,000 stipend added to his or her salary base. Winners of each award are chosen on the recommendation of faculty members, staff, students and alumni. Nominations will be accepted beginning January 9, 2013. Academic Affairs Website - We Need Your Help
In the coming months, the Office of Academic Affairs will undertake a redesign and reorganization of its website to better serve faculty and staff needs surrounding hiring, retention, promotion, tenure processes, and other aspects of faculty life. For the website to be of value to you, it is important that you make your needs and expectations known to us. Introducing Academic Affairs: Barbara Altmann and Meg Mattson
[Image removed by sender.]Barbara Altmann, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, began her appointment on July 1, 2012. In her new role, Barbara oversees NTTF appointments, contracts, and promotions. She also coordinates the academic program review process. Her direct reports are Undergraduate Studies, Graduate Studies, and International Affairs.
[Image removed by sender. Meg Mattson]Meg Mattson is our newest staff member. As Executive Assistant to Barbara Altmann, Meg assumes management of her calendar and schedule. She provides support to the NTTF promotion process and staffs program review, along with Sonja Runberg. Meg will also be working with Ruth D. Keele to implement CourseLeaf and will assume primary responsibility for the internal approval processes for new curriculum proposals.
