You are invited to participate in a survey of speech-language pathologists (SLP) in the western United States. The purpose of the survey is to conduct research in the clinical factors and experience associated with the use of oral mechanism examination during initial assessments performed by SLPs across settings and areas of specialization. This survey is being conducted by Alicia Martin-Cowger, M.S., CCC-SLP and John A. Seikel, PhD of Idaho State University. The data collected will be analyzed and submitted for publication.

You will be asked questions regarding graduate school training, the setting in which you practice, the population you work with, your specializations, and workplace productivity. Additional questions will focus on your experiences performing the oral mechanism examination during initial assessments, including the benefits and limits of the oral mechanism examination for your clinical practice, and how and when you use the oral mechanism examination to assess your clients/patients. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and all of your responses are anonymous. None of the responses will be connected to identifying information.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes or less to complete and is being conducted using Qualtrics, a cloud-based software that stores data on secure servers in Ireland.
