Action required: if you are working remotely on a CASIT-managed computer, please connect to the UOVPN, using Cisco AnyConnect, at least once a week. If you are connecting regularly as part of your daily work, no further action is needed. If you are not regularly connecting, please choose one evening a week and leave your computer connected for at least one hour.

In order to keep your CASIT-managed computer functioning correctly while working remotely, you must connect to the VPN regularly. This allows your computer to update the licensing status for the operating system and other products, like Office and do other system maintenance. If you do not connect regularly, you may lose the ability to login or your applications may stop working. This is difficult for CASIT staff to fix remotely and can interrupt your ability to work. Connecting one evening per week, for an hour, will keep you working smoothly. The initial concerns about VPN capacity have been largely alleviated with the upgrade.
