Friends and Colleagues,



I am writing to share some very sad and shocking news.  Mark Lessel from our team died unexpectedly in his sleep last week.  Mark joined PCS in 2015 and worked with many of you over the past eight years.  Mark had a big impact on UO while he was here.  He worked on around 1000 contracts a year, completing contracts for every UO department.  We will miss Mark’s deadpan, sarcastic sense of humor, his willingness to call out “the man”, his propensity to take over our staff meetings with important announcements and humorous stories, and the way he was always looking out for others.

Given the massive volume of contracts Mark worked on, PCS will not be able to complete contracts and respond to rush requests as quickly as we normally do over the next few months.  For the time being, I ask for your patience as we grieve and triage Mark’s workload.
