Dear Campus Community,



I wanted to write and advise you of some changes that will be coming to Purchasing & Contracting Services over the coming months.



Michael Cappelli, Associate Director of Strategic Procurement, will be retiring June 30th and will be enjoying some vacation time before that.  Please join us in wishing him well and thanking him for his time here at PCS.  Over the last 5 years Michael has played an instrumental role in the many advancements PCS has made in procurement processing and strategy.  He has also worked to negotiate millions of dollars in savings for campus.  Many of us who have worked with him closely over the years know the immense amount of knowledge and hard work he brings to every transaction he works on.   He has also been a mentor to many on the PCS team, myself included.  We will be hosting a virtual open house for people to say goodbye to Michael toward the end of April.  More details will be sent out when we have a firm date/time.



With Michael leaving, Laura Harris, our Strategic Procurement Manager will be taking the lead on UO's competitive procurements and strategic purchasing.



We are also excited to welcome two new additions to the PCS team! We have hired a new contracts officer, Heather Nelson, and have also brought back Briana Campbell, one of our former contracts officers.



Please join me in congratulating Michael and wishing him well as he takes this next step!
