IT Account Code Simplification

Information Technology (IT) account codes in Banner FIS have been simplified to improve accuracy and simplify the classification of IT related expenses.

We terminated a dozen accounts and reclassified any FY18 budget and prepaid expenses in these,

Other IT accounts were renamed and given updated descriptions.

New accounts were created to distinguish IT equipment assets from all other equipment. Property Control will reclassify all existing IT assets.

Effective July 1st please refer to FIS Codes IT Account Codes<https://ba.uoregon.edu/staff/it-account-codes> in the Banner Guide for help selecting the appropriate account code for your IT purchase.

Also effective July 1st software name/title is required in the Banner purchase order and invoice document text when purchasing software.

IT account codes and their descriptions will be changed in the UO Fiscal Policy Manual<https://fpm.uoregon.edu/accountcodes_faceted> soon.
