After reaching a contractual agreement with CTX/Xerox for the Fleet Copier Program, the program has passed the infant stages of implementation. The program's intent is to leverage the university's buying power, combine copier acquisition into one contract, and to improve copier service and equipment technology.
The implementation phase is nearing its halfway point, with almost 150 copiers already installed. CTX/Xerox will continue to provide equipment consultations and installations with the help of Information Services and CASIT. There are two central operations being performed; one to consolidate all copier networking on a single server (IS), and meter reads performed by utilizing new software (CASIT). We are grateful to IS and CASIT for their support and help during this process.
As part of the program, CTX/Xerox is covering the cost of end-of-lease buyouts. Departments are responsible for any monthly payments to their current vendor up until their copier has been replaced. Old copiers will be removed and picked up at a central location at the Baker Center. Please allow CTX/Xerox to make the arrangements for the old copier to be removed.
Information is available on Printing & Mailing Services' website (uoprint.uoregon.edu), including program pricing, request for equipment consultation, and placing a service or supply request. Questions can also be emailed to: copiermanagement at uoregon.edu<mailto:copiermanagement at uoregon.edu>. Part of the program is automated billing through Banner.
The Fleet Copier Program is well on its way to meeting the defined goals set at the conception almost 3 years ago. We appreciate your patience thought the process and look forward to a successful completion of the implementation step of the program.
