Reminder Regarding Contracting with Vendors

PCS has been notified that several UO staff and faculty have received an email from a vendor by the name of Top Hat promoting its software/platform for use as part of their classes.  Please note, University of Oregon does not currently have any enterprise-wide license agreement with this vendor.

If a department wishes to utilize this vendor's products/services or any other vendors' similar products/services, please note your department will need to follow standard contracting procedures in creating a contract with the selected vendor.  Issues such as confidentiality of student records, FERPA, and the like will need to be addressed prior to purchase and implementation of such a service.
