Notice,

To improve employee fringe budgeting and forecasting, and more accurately account for employee leave expenses, next fiscal year the university will change the way its payroll system calculates employee fringe expenses.

Budget and Resource Planning (BRP) established a blended fringe rate for each employee class (group) to cover the cost of both insurances and leaves.

Beginning July 1 2016, fringe expense will be calculated by multiplying employee gross pay by the new blended rate for the appropriate employee class.

To facilitate this change new employee class codes will be created to distinguish faculty, Athletic employees, service workers and retirees.
Some existing employee classes will be renamed and others inactivated.

We are providing advanced warning because many university systems and reports that depend on employee class codes will need to be reprogrammed.

The employee class changes effective 1 July 2016 are available in the Banner Guide under HRIS 'News & Recent Updates',

Please share this with others in your organization responsible for systems or reports that may be impacted.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact your budget analyst in BRP.
