Suspicious Vendor- Toner

Dear Campus Buyers,

Several UO department staff have recently received phone calls from individuals seeking to sell the department toner for their copier/printer.  On many of these calls, the individual identifies himself as working for a known copier company.  The individual then requests the department staff person provide information on the department's printer/copier such as make, model number/serial number.  Upon providing this information, the department staff person is informed that the costs for toner will increase by next month so the department should order additional toner now.  The outcome commonly results in the shipment of inferior toner at highly inflated prices.  Additionally, most departments on campus already have a copier lease agreement that includes toner in the rental fee.

If you receive calls such as the one above, please direct all such suspicious calls to either Purchasing and Contracting at (541)346-2419 or Printing and Mailing at (541) 346-2432.
